About the Journal

Journal Austronesia (JA) is a peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal published by the Center for Prehistory and Austronesian Studies (CPAS) in Indonesia. This journal primarily publishes original research and review articles in the fields of archaeology, anthropology, and related disciplines.

Embodying the ethos of "Departing from the past, leading to the present, and projecting into the future," JA is dedicated to exploring and disseminating the values that have emerged and evolved from the past, aiming to enhance our present lives and guide future directions. The journal's focus encompasses the study of humans, the environment, and culture from prehistoric times to the present, particularly among Austronesian speakers and other linguistic groups.

JA releases two issues annually, in March and September, with submissions welcomed throughout the year. Prospective authors are advised to ensure that their manuscripts align with JA's thematic focus, adhere to the author's guidelines, and follow the prescribed template.
